Job Summary

The Human Resources/Payroll Administrator is responsible for managing and executing key HR, payroll, and financial support functions at Elegant Woodwork. This role oversees employee data management, bi-weekly payroll processing, benefits administration, and supports internal communications and employee engagement initiatives.

**Responsibilities**:
**HR & Employee Support**
- Lead full-cycle recruitment: job postings, screening, interviews, reference checks, and offer preparation
- Coordinate and deliver onboarding and orientation for all new hires
- Maintain and update employee records and documentation in the HRIS
- Manage employee offboarding processes, including termination documentation and final pay
- Administer benefits programs, including enrollments, changes, and distribution of benefit cards
- Complete vacation reconciliations and track employee leave balances
- Draft, update, and maintain HR-related Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation and internal policies
- Act as a resource for employees and management on HR-related matters
- Support performance and conduct-based discussions and documentation

**Payroll & Financial Support**
- Process bi-weekly payroll for all employees (Wage, Salary), ensuring accuracy and timely delivery
- Maintain payroll records, including vacation, time tracking, and attendance
- Prepare Records of Employment (ROEs), final pay calculations, and vacation payouts as needed
- Support the finance department by entering data and maintaining payroll-related financial records
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve issues promptly
- Support finance with invoicing functions
- Vacation backup for accounting

**Culture & Communications**
- Plan and coordinate employee events, celebrations, and wellness initiatives
- Prepare and distribute internal communications, such as newsletters and announcements
- Serve as a culture champion, helping to foster a positive and inclusive work environment
- Collaborate with other departments to support engagement and employee recognition efforts

Education, Experience and Skills

**Education and Experience**:

- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Office Administration, Human Resources or Accounting Certificate/Diploma is an asset
- Experience in Human Resources, Payroll, or administrative support is preferred
- Experience with payroll systems is an asset (ADP)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and strong computer literacy

Pay: $60,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
