Modern Specialty Insurance Ltd. (MSI) is an independent Canadian owned MGA with program specific opportunities targeting the Commercial Transportation, Niche Habitational, and Small to Medium Enterprise sectors. We are looking for a Business Development representative for the following role.
**Role Summary**:
The Business Development representative will be in contact with our existing broker partners to provide support and educate on product offerings. The Business Development representative will also be responsible for building new broker relationships in order to grow our broker network. This role also plays a vital role in MSI’s online presence by coordinating the marketing of our program products which develops business relationships to assist MSI achieving the number one MGA in Canada.

**Primary Responsibilities**:
- Maintain and strengthen existing broker relationships, while identifying opportunities to expand the broker network through on-site visits, tradeshows, and national industry events.
- Promote MSI’s programs and products to both new and existing brokers, clearly communicating our value proposition.
- Monitor and manage broker performance in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Support the development, execution, and reporting of strategic business plans.
- Train and guide brokers and their staff on the effective use of MSI tools, including portals and marketing materials, to drive program growth and enhance engagement.
- Conduct market research and provide strategic insights and recommendations on broker performance, competitive trends, and product positioning.
- Develop and coordinate promotional materials and sales tools to support marketing and business development efforts.
- Utilize multimedia and digital platforms to elevate MSI’s brand visibility.
- Promote MSI’s social responsibility initiatives by aligning marketing efforts with relevant social causes.
- Gather and report market intelligence to inform business decisions and strategic planning.
- Respond to broker inquiries and concerns promptly and effectively, coordinating with internal teams as needed.
- Represent Modern Specialty Insurance at industry events across Canada, including trade shows, conferences, career fairs, and broker conventions.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $69,437.53-$80,396.22 per year
