We are seeking a results-driven, social media obsessed individual to join our Commercial team in the role of Social Media & Digital Marketing Coordinator, supporting our Waterloo Brewing owner brand portfolio of beer, cider and ready to drink alcoholic beverages. As the Social Media & Digital Marketing Coordinatoryou will be responsible for helping to create engaging social media content, write compelling copy, engage followers, create unique digital customer experiences and much more. You will work directly with the Digital Marketing Manager and Graphic Designer to develop and implement creative campaigns and strategies to help build our social media following, drive traffic to points of sale, support company goals and turn followers and customers into brand advocates.
The role is a maternity/parental leave backfill.
**Accountabilities**:
- Engage followers, drive conversations and create impactful customer experiences through social media interactions with brand channels.
- Answer all social media customer inquires in a timely manner. Engage other departments when necessary for information.
- Schedule and plan social media content, monitor conversations and keep all social media platforms current and up to date.
- Grow and expand current social media presence while keeping up to date on new social media platforms we can utilize.
- Assist with photography and photography/video shoots as needed.
- Research and monitor activity of competitors as well as community initiatives, influencers, current/world events, opportunities etc that we can leverage.
- Attend events on and off site for content needs as needed.
- Utilize our social media presence to support our Taphouse & Beer Store as well as partnerships, events, licensees, internal steak holders, and sales channels (TBS, LCBO, Grocery etc).
- Work closely with our Graphic Designer to create engaging content for platforms that is always on brand.
- Work alongside Digital Marketing Manager to brainstorm creative campaigns and strategies to grow our platforms.
- Assist the Digital Marketing Manager with influencer marketing campaigns and LandShark Student Ambassador Program.
**Skills for Success & Qualifications**:
- Degree, diploma (or equivalent experience) in Communications, Public Relations or Marketing.
- 1-2 years’ experience with social media management, marketing, content creation & copywriting.
- Photography experience - You are a photographer, consider it a hobby or have an awesome Instagram feed of beautiful images or video you’re eager to show us.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Obsessed with social media and always seeking out new opportunities to expand, connect with people and creatively reach our audience.
- A love of crafting witty one liners.
- Organized, efficient, with a high attention to detail - you’re known for pointing out every tiny inconsistency in everything from branding to your favourite TV show.
- A collaborative team player that is also able to execute individual tasks with excellence.
- Proven ability to multi-task and manage conflicting priorities.
- Able to condense a lot of ideas into succinct communications.
- Creative problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to learn, resourceful, with a “can-do” attitude.
- Ability to execute, own tasks and follow-through.
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and ability to adapt to change.
- Experience with all major social media platforms including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn.
- Experience with advertising and digital marketing in beverage alcohol an asset.
- Passion and love for craft beer, community and the Waterloo Region an asset.
- Working knowledge of HTML & CSS an asset.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Suite an asset.
- Working knowledge of Trello, Canva and Sprout Social an asset.
- Ready to jump in and assist when needed. We are a small team and are always growing, learning and taking on new responsibilities.
- Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on a company’s success.
**Should also**:
- Have access to a vehicle with valid driver’s license.
- Be able to work evenings and weekends on occasion when needed for social media coverage.
