Claims Adjuster

**Opportunity**:
Are you customer service oriented? Do you enjoy highly analytical and investigative work? If so, Millennium Insurance is looking to add a Bodily Injury Adjuster to their dynamic team

Reporting to the Bodily Injury and Accident/Benefit Claims Supervisor, the Bodily Injury Adjuster will be responsible for investigating and evaluating bodily injury claims to ensure accurate and fair settlements.

**What you will be doing**:

- Conduct thorough investigations of bodily injury claims, including reviewing accident reports, medical records, and interviewing involved parties
- Evaluate liability and damages to determine claim value, propose claim reserves and negotiate settlements within established authority limits
- Review policy coverage and interpret relevant laws and regulations
- Collaborate with medical professionals, legal counsel, and other experts to gather necessary information and support claim decisions
- Maintain accurate and detailed claim files, documentation, and reports in accordance with company guidelines and industry standards
- Provide exceptional customer service by promptly responding to inquiries, providing status updates, and addressing concerns from claimants, policyholders, and other stakeholders
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, legal developments, and best practices in bodily injury claims management

**What you bring to the team**:

- Minimum of two (2) years of auto bodily injury claims handling experience
- Post-secondary education and/or CIP designation are considered an asset
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and the relationship to quantum is required
- Ability to interpret case law and applicable legislations related to bodily injury
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills to effectively interact with claimants, policyholders and legal representatives
- Experience in mediations/settlement conferences is preferred but not required.
- Proficient computer skills, including experience with claims management software and MS Office Suite
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate complex information and make informed decisions
- High level of attention to detail, organization skills and ability to prioritize tasks
- High degree of emotional intelligence and empathy

**How you will succeed**:
In the first year, success will be measured by the ability to independently assess and evaluate bodily injury exposures and recommending appropriate claim reserves.
