**Job Summary**:
This role, based in Toronto with currently a hybrid work model, is part of the HarperCollins International central team, based in New York City. The HCI central team supports the HarperCollins non-English language publishing teams around the world. This role reports into the Senior Director of International Publishing, based in Toronto, as part of a team of four focused on publishing and marketing coordination. The Publishing Coordinator is the point person for liaising with various departments worldwide, fielding queries from our foreign publishing teams, creating updates for authors, managing the central rights database, and supporting the business growth initiatives of the department. The Publishing Coordinator will enjoy working on a team with a start-up dynamic within a creative and innovative environment.
**Responsibilities**:
**Publishing Planning (40%)**
- Manage the flow of manuscripts between offices
- Gather and summarize publishing plans; seek necessary approvals
- Maintain the rights database with absolute focus on data integrity
- Manage communication and approvals of critical database updates, coordinating changes with multiple stakeholders
- Coordinate and create persuasive pitch decks for author acquisitions
**Publishing Updates (40%)**
- Manage a central asset sharing site critical to the communication between global publishing teams
- Develop presentations with international marketing colleagues that summarize marketing plans for authors
- Create and circulate relevant reports including bestseller lists, acquisition updates, and sales achievements
**Special Projects (10%)**
- Project management on global initiatives - coordinating assets, deadlines, approvals, conference calls, with publishing teams around the world
**Administrative Support (10%)**
- Ad-hoc assignments to aid the initiatives of the team
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in Business/Marketing/or similar discipline
- 1-2 years of relevant experience
**Assets**:
- Publishing Certificate
- Experience with project management or international business
- Knowledge of one or more European languages
