Overview

The Lane Technician will be responsible for understanding and implementing the traffic management plan for the site and ensuring the movement of people and trucks adheres to the plan in a safe manner.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Work safely in a construction site and promote a safe work environment adhering to safety policies and procedures including participation in safety meetings.
- Responsible for the set-up, maintenance, and takedown of signage for Mainland Energy site(s)
- Responsible for the safe and courteous movement of vehicles and personnel at the assigned job site(s)
- May be required to help maintain the cleanliness of the job site, using a shovel and broom to clean dirt and debris
- Acting as an interface with the public for Mainland Group, the Lane Technician is required to work with the public, clients, and Mainland crews
- Responsible for tracking of and documenting truck movement
- Responsible for maintaining company vehicle to appropriate standards ie. cleanliness.

Qualifications, Experience & Skill Set
- A minimum of 2 years experience as a Lane Technician
- Experience in the operation of lane closure equipment and processes is an asset
- Valid Lane Technician certification is preferred but not required
- Applied knowledge of Health & Safety practices and requirements
- Must possess valid Class 5 Drivers License and be able to travel to sites across region.
- Maintain quality results of work to be done.
- Maintain equipment and promptly report any maintenance issues.
- Good communications ability, able to work with variety of individuals
- Work as a team with other crew members on daily activities of the site.
- First aid training is an asset.
- Understanding of safety and ability to communicate safety issues as they arise
- Must be physically fit, able to spend most or all shift standing, walking, lifting and carrying, working hands-on in an outdoor environment in all types of weather.
- Flexibility with hours worked, including overtime and weekend work as needed.
- Must be local to the Lower Mainland
