Savanna Drilling Canada is searching for a self-motivated team player who is dedicated to growing their professional experience and career. The HSE Advisor is responsible for supporting the Operations Team in ensuring that all drilling rig operations are conducted in a safe and efficient manner by integrating and implementing company and regulatory policies at work and at the project location. This position is Full-Time Permanent and is based out of our Leduc Alberta office location.

**Core Responsibilities**
- Promote total job safety, and a proactive safety culture within Savanna Drilling;
- Perform regular field site visits to support operations, requirement of 80% field 20% office;
- Undertake the opportunity to “Mentor” others with regards to the Savanna’s HSE Safety Management Programs, attend safety meetings, pre-job meetings (Fresh Starts) and safety training;
- Assist Rig Site Management in the implementation of Savanna’s Health, Safety and Environmental programs and processes;
- Deliver health, safety and environmental information sessions on Company, Industry or Statutory matters as required to ensure that HSE remains a key focus at the operational level;
- Develop sound knowledge of drilling and/or completion techniques, activities and the associated risks with said techniques and activities;
- Assist Operations team in conducting incident investigation, with the intention of determining the Root Cause and determining corrective action items to prevent re-occurrence;
- Promote the awareness of hazard identification, elimination and control;
- Ensure all elements of the Corporate HSE process and programs are met in order to maintain regulatory compliance and incidents/injury free workplace;
- Ensure all incidents are reported to the division HSE Manager in a timely fashion;
- Remain current and knowledgeable of OH&S and other Health & Safety Regulations in the provinces in which we operate;
- Maintain a positive and proactive safety culture across the work teams;
- Champion and mentor Savanna Drilling Corp.’s Vision and Values;
- Other duties as requested.

**Education and Experience**:

- Certificate / Diploma in OH&S from accredited school
- 3-5 years’ industry experience, including drilling and/or completions background is preferable;
- Experience and strong knowledge in incident investigation (Root Cause Analysis);
- Working knowledge of OH&S, AER, WCB Regulations, and IRPs;
- Maintain all required training certificates and tickets as per Savanna Drilling training matrices for this position.

**Required Skills**:

- Strong Organizational skills;
- Strong knowledge in MS Word, Excel and Power Point;
- Respond calmly to emergency and/or critical situations;
- Ability to communicate clearly, confidently and concisely;
- Ability to source information and provide competent advice;
- Ability to manage conflict and changing priorities;
- Must be able to perform duties with mínimal supervision;
- Ability to travel to remote rig sites in multiple provinces.
- Handle confidential information in an ethic manner;
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Technical writing or experience in program development is considered an asset.

**Special Conditions**:

- Ability to travel extensively to worksites; (must have valid driver’s license)
- Ability to work unconventional hours on occasion, as required.
- Must be willing and able to work rotational on call schedule
- This position is based in either Leduc or Calgary with travel across Western Canada
