Monitoring Officer

Murray's Windermere Gardens is looking for security / police foundation professionals that possess excellent customer service skills. You should be a reliable person able to observe and observe well. You must be a reliable employee who is always there for the team. This is an ideal position for a recent graduate of a Police Foundation, Corrections or Security Program. This position will allow you to gain experience working with a marginalized population with a history of chronic homelessness, involved in the criminal justice system, diagnosed with mental health illness, and struggling with addiction.

**Monitoring Officer Job Description**:

- Provide security and safety services.
- Ensure you know the whereabouts of all the residents at any given time.
- Follow up with the resident as per their conditions and policy.
- Monitor and control access at building entrances and parking lot.
- Monitor surveillance cameras and monitor results.
- Report any suspicious activity or incidents to management.
- Investigate incidents according to company policies.
- Maintain accurate logs and report any issues or incidents to the supervisor or manager.
- Assist in maintaining fire safety regulations at designated buildings and alarm inspection.
- Adhere to all applicable laws regarding security, safety, and emergency procedures.
- Enforce regulations to maintain order and resolve conflict and monitor activities.

**Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities**:
Combination of sitting, standing and walking. Demanding and fast paced environment, repetitive tasks and works well under pressure.

**Job Requirements**:
Criminal Record Check - Vulnerable Sector check, Fingerprints, Immunization records, Tuberculosis vaccinations, employment references required and reliability clearance.

**Required Education**:

- First Aid/ CPR Certification
- Security license, corrections. police foundations or equivalent experience.
- Mental health first aid certificate behavior certification, NVCI, WHMIS, (preferred)

**Conditions of Employment**:

- Possess a post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field (completed or in progress) Police Foundation, Corrections or Security Program or other related fields.
- Obtain a Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector (current within 6 months)
- Complete an Employee Medic al Test with Hep B, and 2-part TB test
- Provide proof of Immunization record
- Consent to Reliability Clearance Check
- Experience is encouraged but not required if related education is complete.
- Possess First Aid/ CPR

On-site training is provided. Also made available to all employees are opportunities to participate in various workshops to further develop skills and knowledge on how to better support our residents.
