Reporting to the Director of Facilities Management, the Manager of Housekeeping provides the vision, operational direction, leadership and management for all aspects of the program in keeping with STEGH’s mission, vision and values. This program includes Housekeeping and Linen services at STEGH.

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced leader to showcase their strengths and talents in process redesign, program evaluation and development while using LEAN leadership methodology and principles. The incumbent will play a leadership role in developing Housekeeping strategies and will work collaboratively to ensure quality service delivery in a timely and safe manner within a very high-paced environment.

**SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED**:

- Ontario Hospital Association Environmental Services Level II Certificate; or be willing to obtain within three (3) months of starting
- Member in good standing with the Ontario Healthcare Housekeepers Association
- Must possess post-secondary education
- Minimum of three (3) years’ of progressive leadership experience in a healthcare environment is preferred
- Minimum of five (5) years’ of experience in a Housekeeping or Linen role, with preference being given to those with experience in a healthcare environment
- Must possess a solid understanding of Housekeeping standards including PIDAC and other Infection Prevention and Control Standards
- Demonstrated ability to develop, monitor, analyze and evaluate operational and capital budgets
- Labour relations experience in a unionized setting
- Strong working knowledge of Housekeeping functions and software programs (work orders, equipment, tracking, Outlook, Kronos, Ormed, etc.)
- Highly developed critical thinking skills with an innovative approach to analyzing and solving problems, decision making, planning and evaluation skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, coach and develop employees during times of change and shifting priorities
- Demonstrated learning agility and commitment to professional self-development and the development of others
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Experience in a LEAN environment with Lean Green Belt certification preferred
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a wide range of professionals
- Possess a Safety Leadership training (Public Services Health and Safety Association -PSHSA) and Transportation of Dangerous Goods Certificate or be willing to obtain
- Excellent and dependable attendance record in accordance with STEGH’s Attendance at Work program
