**NOW HIRING: CASHIER (Full-Time & Part-Time)**

Cashiers at Selkirk Home Hardware Building Centre play an integral role in our store's success, and in providing a positive customer experience. We are currently hiring for both full-time and part-time positions.

**Responsibilities**:

- Greet customers when entering or leaving the store
- Provide exceptional customer service
- Operate all point-of-sale equipment, including the cash register, with sufficient speed and accuracy.
- Ensure accurate product scanning and processing of customer orders/deliveries/holds
- Communicate effectively with various departments to ensure inventory accuracy
- Execute store-directed promotions and programs
- Maintain/clean product displays around the till areas
- Work on special projects as assigned by management.
- Work in a safe manner in accordance with provincial and federal safety legislation. Report any potential hazards and unsafe behaviour to management in order to have the situation corrected.

**Requirements & Qualifications**:

- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Must have a positive attitude and be a team player
- Available to work varying shifts from Monday to Sunday, including weekends and evenings
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Ability to work with numbers (e.g. count back change)
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team atmosphere
- Must be detail oriented
- Must be willing to go above and beyond for customers
- Strong listening, communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to continually develop professional skills and knowledge base.
- Retail experience is considered an asset, but not required.
