**Location**:
- A hybrid position - working from our office located in Toronto and remotely from anywhere in Canada.
**Role Summary**:
Reporting to the Documentation Lead, the Technical Author will join a growing team to help shape our customer experiences with content by translating complex information for cross-functional audiences. The role involves creating content for and/or contributing to:
- End user documentation
- Client knowledgebase articles
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Research, write, edit, compile, revise, and review end user and technical documentation (including but not limited to end user guides, online help, release notes, known issues, as well as offer documentation support to requests by other functions within the business, etc.) in alignment with defined standards (Frameworks, Learning Paths, etc.)
- Create content using a unified voice across multiple product lines
- Create and maintain knowledgebase articles on our customer portal
- Work closely with Development and QA, Product Management, Support, UX, and Product Marketing, to gain a comprehensive understanding of product functionality
- Work cross-departmentally to identify gaps in documentation and collect relevant information from Subject Matter Experts
- Provide recommendations on UI text to ensure a positive user experience
**Skills and Experience**:
Experience and skills must include:
- 3-5 years as a technical writer or UX writer for an enterprise-level software company
- Familiarity with MadCap Flare authoring tool
- Authoring in an agile environment
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS and XML
Nice to haves:
- API documentation experience
- UI writing experience
- Experience working in distributed teams
- Knowledge of localization processes
- Knowledge of design thinking methodologies
