Position Overview
The Accounting Clerk is an integral part of the Finance department. This position is a temporary summer full-time position reporting to the Assistant Financial Controller and would be ideal for someone actively studying a finance degree and looking for a summer job that will enhance their accounting knowledge.

Alberta Employment Standards regarding probationary periods apply.

- Strong customer-service experience with regards to internal inter-departmental and external vendor communication
- Demonstrated strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong team member capable of working independently as well as being able to take direction.

Qualifications and experience
- Business / Finance experience. Minimum 1 year’s experience in an accounting role or currently studying within a relevant degree
- Strong computer skills, proficient with Excel and Outlook
- Knowledge of accounting software such as Great Plains is an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality

Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Maintaining the organization of purchase orders, ensuring all relevant documents are accurate and authorised.
- Matching packing slips and purchase orders to invoices and verifying the accuracy
- Coding, entering and printing cheques using the Great Plains Accounting System.
- Ensuring that policies and procedures are followed with proper authorizations at all levels
- Filing of documents and ensuring organization of incoming and outgoing documents at various stages of processing.
- Taking on special projects as assigned
- Other financial/admin ad hoc duties as required.
