Reporting to the Senior Manager - Operations, Community Safety Unit (CSU) the Project Manager - Body Worn Cameras (BWC) will be accountable for ensuring the business needs and outcomes of the Body Worn Camera exploration/pilot project are met, while balancing the diverse needs of TCHCs communities.
**What you’ll do**
- Manage assigned BWC project teams including allocation of approved staff resources, delegating, scheduling and prioritizing of staff workloads to ensure project deliverable are met.
- Research, analyze and assess the BWC project as assigned, working with stakeholders and appropriate CSU/TCHC staff to produce business case, project scope documents, project plans and deliverables.
- Manage BWC project partnerships with service providers, TCHC Business Units and other internal and external stakeholders.
- Prepare BWC project plans by producing project work breakdown structures, project charter & schedules and by ensuring implementation, contingency, risk management, communications, quality assurance & staffing plans are completed.
- Ensure stakeholder signoff / approval is obtained at each step of Project Management Life cycle.
- Effectively manage the allocation of project funds dedicated to the delivery of the BWC project, and ensuring that cost criteria are met.
- Perform project control / tracking / reporting by ensuring that day-to-day management of BWC project working groups, including assigned staff is conducted.
- Schedule and conduct project meetings including technical team, working groups, steering committee.
- Ensure appropriate project governance is in place.
- Engage in quality assurance reviews of project.
- Plan and manage the BWC project on-time and on-budget.
- Research, review, provide advice and prepare reports on BWC project trends and issues.
- Assist in the preparation of RFP’s or RFI’s.
- Oversee, manage and administer the implementation of project management governance, tools and templates for use between internal/external staff. Contribute to the development and modifications of the project management framework.
- Gather and analyze BWC project management reports, project status and management reporting requirements, report on the assigned change projects, change requests and project plans to the Manager of Business Planning and Support.
- Other responsibilities as assigned by the Manager of Planning and Business Support.
**What you’ll need**
- University degree in Business Administration, program and project management, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Law enforcement background or experience working with a law enforcement agency preferred
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in project management.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) designation an asset.
- Sound knowledge of and implementation of Project Management governance, project methodologies, tools, templates and project documentation for successful project deliverance.
- Previous experience managing/leading teams, projects and budgets.
- Prior experience working with Information Technology units an asset.
- Must have excellent knowledge of the principles and practices of project management and demonstrated ability in monitoring, reviewing and reporting on major projects.
- Must have strong team building skills, listening, coaching, group facilitation and conflict resolution skills
- Knowledge in business systems analysis and problem resolution.
- Strong presentation, writing, and/or training skills
- Experienced meeting facilitator
- Excellent interpersonal and oral / written communication skills and client relationship skills
- Analytical ability with exceptional attention to detail
