Family Dynamics operates seven neighborhood family resource centres within subsidized housing developments throughout Winnipeg with the goal of having empowered individuals living in healthy families within a well connected and supportive community. Reporting to the Family Community Development Worker onsite Community Helpers work as part of the Family Resource Centre team and participate in many aspects of programming at the Centre including food and beverage preparation, set-up and take down and administrative duties. General maintenance of the Centre is also an area of responsibility.

**Key Responsibilities and Activities**:

- Preparing coffee and snacks; baking as required
- Greeting and welcoming visitors to the Centre
- Maintaining the Centre including washing, drying and putting away dishes; wiping tables, counters and appliances; sweeping, vacuuming and dusting; cleaning bathrooms; and cleaning and putting away toys
- Answering the telephone and taking messages
- Helping with set-up and take down for programs
- Referring visitors to the appropriate staff person so that they can access programs and services
- Some administrative tasks, as assigned

**Qualifications**
- Must be a resident of the community being served, or have a strong connection to the community
- General understanding of resources available within the community
- Experience working with children and the ability to interact with parents

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**
- Friendly, with good communication skills
- Organized
- Basic knowledge of computers is required
