Calgary, Canada Sheraton Cavalier Calgary Hotel Full time

**FUNCTION**:
Assist the Director of Maintenance in directing, participating in, and overseeing the preventative maintenance program and maintenance programs within the Hotel and property. Thisis an exciting opportunity to learn facility maintenance management from an experienced Power Engineer.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Assisting the Director of Maintenance with the institution, coordination, and participation in the Preventative Maintenance Program
- Assist in planning daily, weekly, and monthly tasks and delegating them to the maintenance associates, including maintaining accurate records
- Assist in the training and mentoring of the maintenance team in all aspects of property maintenance and safe work practices
- Assist and support weekly scheduling of associates
- Liaising with outside service providers and contractors
- Maintaining shop inventory and equipment and ensuring proper storage
- Substituting for Shift Engineers in their duties and assist other associates in unexpected emergency situations (water leaks, mechanical failures, etc.)

**Additional Duties Include**:

- General repairs to guest rooms, mechanical areas and back of house
- Perform regular building inspections to identify potential problems and opportunities for improvement
- Monitoring and recording functioning of hotel’s physical plant, reporting issues, and making corrective repairs as required
- Perform all duties in a safe manner according to established safe work practices.
- Report any accidents, injuries, near misses and/or hazardous conditions.
- Other related duties as necessary.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Requires proficient English communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Must have all around skills and be able to make minor electrical, plumbing, a/c, painting, wallpaper and carpentry repairs.
- Must be able to stand and walk around performing duties for up to 4 hours in length.
- Friendly and professional demeanor.
- Physically fit; bending, lifting, pushing, etc. as necessary.
- Must be able to perform duties without supervision.

**HOURS OF WORK**:
Shift schedule: 5 days, 8 hours per day (Day Shift)
