**Qualifications**:
Hold a Diploma of College Studies in Information and Library Technologies or a diploma or an attestation of studies recognized as equivalent by the competent authority.

**Other Requirements**:
Bilingual (French and English)

Knowledge of an automated library program (REGARD would be an asset)

Knowledge of collection development and collection maintenance procedures

Knowledge of cataloguing and classification principles

Knowledge of literature

Ability to interact comfortably with students

Provide a positive and comfortable environment for students

Time management skills

Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work collaboratively with staff

Computer and information literate

Knowledge of ebooks and digital resources

Knowledge of the QEP and understanding of the role that the library plays within that program would be an asset

Knowledge of a 21st century library is an asset

Knowledge of Google Apps for Education is an asset

Salary scale as per the IASS CollectiveAgreement

$23.12 to $30.22 per hour

Nature of the work

The principal and customary work of an employee in this class of employment consists in performing technical tasks related to the organization and operation of one or more documentation centers: libraries or document management centers.

In his or her work, the employee in this class of employment may provide technical assistance to personnel involved in document management and to users of documentation centers.

Daily Tasks/Dossiers

Ensuring the smooth operation of the library learning commons.

Helping to promote literacy and to create a culture of reading in the school by offering or organizing activities such as book animation, story time, book talks, thematic displays, book clubs, author visits, book fairs. Providing reader advisory services.

Maintaining the physical collection of the library learning commons.

Developing the collection and purchasing library materials.

Maintaining the library database in accordance with school board procedures.

Initiating students and staff to the library learning commons, including library skills instruction. Providing reference services to support the curriculum. Helping staff and students develop online searching skills and assisting them with digital library resources (ebooks, online encyclopedias, databases).

Être titulaire d'un diplôme d'études collégiales en techniques de la documentation ou être titulaire d'un diplôme ou d'une attestation d'études dont l'équivalence est reconnue par l'autorité compétente.

**Autres exigences**:
Bilinguisme (français et anglais)

Connaissance d’un logiciel de bibliothèque (REGARD serait un atout)

Connaissance des méthodes d’enrichissement et de gestion des collections

Connaissance des principes de catalogage et de classification

Connaissance de la littérature

Capacité d’interagir aisément avec les élèves

Offrir un cadre positif et confortable aux élèves

Compétences en gestion du temps

Excellentes aptitudes en communication interpersonnelle et capacité de travailler en collaboration avec le personnel

Connaissances en informatique et information

Connaissance des livres et ressources numériques

Connaissance du Programme de formation de l’école québécoise et compréhension du rôle de la bibliothèque dans ce programme - un atout

Connaissance de la bibliothèque du 21e siècle (un atout)

Connaissance des outils Google Apps pour l’éducation - un atout

**Échelle de salaire selon la convention collective del’UIES**:
23,12 $ à 30,22 $ de l’heure

Nature du travail

Le rôle principal et habituel de la personne salariée de cette classe d’emplois consiste à réaliser des travaux techniques ayant trait à l'organisation et au fonctionnement d’un ou de centres de documentation tels qu’une bibliothèque ou un centre de gestion de documents.

Dans son travail, la personne salariée de cette classe d’emplois peut fournir une assistance technique au personnel impliqué dans la gestion documentaire de même qu’aux usagers des centres de documentation.
