**About the Paramedic Professor Role**:
The Faculty of Health Sciences & Wellness is seeking a Paramedic Professor to join a dynamic and collaborative academic team committed to preparing the next generation of paramedics for professional excellence and regulatory readiness in Ontario’s evolving emergency medical services landscape.

**As a Paramedic Professor, you will**:

- Teach a range of courses related to paramedic science, paramedic assessment and care, clinical reasoning and decision making, pharmacology, trauma management, legal/professional issues, ethics, paramedic skills and lifting/transfer techniques.
- Create an inclusive and learner-centered classroom environment using innovative and evidence-informed instructional techniques, including simulation and interprofessional collaboration.
- Develop and revise curriculum and course outlines in alignment with Ontario’s Basic and Advanced Life Support Patient Care Standards, the Ministry of Health Emergency Health Regulatory and Accountability Branch, and the Ministry of Colleges and Universities’ program standards for paramedic education.
- Contribute to Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) success by collaborating with faculty, preceptors, and the WIL Officer to support student readiness for clinical and field placements.
- Support student learning through academic advising, mentorship, and skill development, with a strong emphasis on equity, professionalism, and reflective practice.
- Participate in program development, committee work, community and industry engagement, and initiatives that support the growth of Humber’s paramedicine portfolio, including the transition from diploma to degree-level education.

**Education**
- **Bachelor’s degree** in **Paramedicine**, Health Sciences, Education, or a related field** (required).
- **Graduate certificate or master’s degree** in education or a related discipline (preferred).
- **Certification as a Primary Care or Advanced Care Paramedic** in Ontario (preferred).

**Experience/Skills**:

- **Minimum five (5) years of full-time experience** as a paramedic in Ontario.
- **Demonstrated post-secondary teaching experience** in paramedicine or health sciences (required).
- Experience with **curriculum design**, **learning assessment**, and **simulation-based learning** in a regulated healthcare context.
- Knowledge of **Ontario’s paramedic regulatory framework**, including AEMCA processes, BLS/ALS Patient Care Standards, and Base Hospital oversight.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and **team collaboration skills**, with the ability to support a diverse student population.
