**Overview**:
- **Position**: Grounds Person
- **Department**: Grounds Department
- **Employment Type**: Full-Time, Seasonal (Spring - Late Fall)
- **Shift Schedule**: A combination of weekend & weekday shifts, starting at 5:00 AM (or earlier).
- **Compensation**: $20.22 - $28.00 per hour (Compensation is based on experience, with high-end wages reserved for individuals with education in turfgrass management or extensive industry-related experience.)
- **Reports To**: Superintendent
- **Unionized Position.**
**What You’ll Do**:
As a Grounds Person at VGC, you will play a vital role in ensuring our golf course remains in pristine condition. You will work as part of a team to maintain the greens, fairways, and overall landscape to the highest standard. Responsibilities include:
- Mowing and maintaining turf areas, including fairways, greens, tee boxes, and rough.
- Raking, weeding, trimming, and edging bunkers.
- Operating gas-powered equipment such as mowers, blowers, and string trimmers.
- Assisting with sodding and other turf improvement projects.
- Observing all safety regulations and policies while working.
- Helping with general landscape maintenance and clean-up.
**Who We’re Looking For**:
- **Are early risers** - Shifts begin at 5:00 AM or earlier.
- **Enjoy working outdoors** in various weather conditions.
- **Are physically fit** - Must be able to walk and stand for long periods.
- **Are team players** with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- **Have a willingness to learn** - No prior experience necessary; training is provided
- **Transportation reliability**- As our location is not transit-friendly,a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation is preferred.
