We are looking for a caring, creative, dependable and energetic person to provide support and instruction for our 28-year-old son who has high-functioning autism and who is friendly and talkative. **Because you will be providing support, companionship and guidance 1 on 1, personal fit is very important.**

We are looking for someone who will support our son **2- 3 times a week on weekdays, 5 hours per day.** Typically, the hours are 10:30 AM till 3:30PM; but there is some flexibility about the times, so if you have a synchronous class on a specific day, we can usually adjust the schedule.
Additional hours or weekend slots may become available in the future.
We live **in the Yonge/Clark area in **Thornhill. **(Close to YRT #5 bus-line.)
Pay : $22.00 - $24.00 per hour.

You will join our son on daily walks (in the neighbourhood or near-by parks.)
Outings, such as library, gym and swimming at the local pool may be done as well.
You will plan and join in simple arts & crafts activities.
Additional activities include : simple cooking and baking, doing puzzles, fun science experiments, exercise on the treadmill or using the WII.
With your help, our son can try new activities and skills, make special projects and practice daily living skills.
**Training will be provided. We will provide orientation and be there for any support that you need.**
- have experience working or volunteering with kids (Possibly as a camp-counsellor, ECE, teacher, Instructor-Therapist, Child and Youth Worker, Social Services Worker, Developmental Service Worker, psychology, kinesiology or recreational therapy program student.)
- have the ability to help plan activities; and
- have a driver's license.

This opportunity may be of particular interest to applicants who are currently in 1st or 2nd year of university or college, taking courses in a related field and looking for experience and part-time hours.
It may also be of interest to stay-at-home parents or others who are looking for a part-time opportunity.
