Certain cities may be located in distant or remote areas in Ontario and may not be accessible by public transit. Refer to the "How to apply" section if you require a disability-related accommodation. **What can I expect to do in this role?**: **Work Description** As an Assistant Water Resource Technician, you may have the opportunity to work on some or all of the following activities: - Assist with the collection, entry and analysis of water resources data specific to: groundwater, surface water, geomorphology, meteorology, water quality (e.g. benthics and chemistry) or fish. Specialized equipment will be used and maintained in the collection of the data. - Provide assistance to the Fish and Wildlife program by conducting research including fieldwork to assemble and draft information, including writing reports on fish and wildlife resources. - Assist in carrying out field work including conducting fish and benthic sampling, and inspections of facilities and grounds and other aspects of Water Resource Management. (e.g. contaminant sources, mapping, delineation etc.) Note: Some positions will require operation of boats, motors, trucks, all-terrain vehicle (ATVs), and other specialized equipment. Positions will involve work outdoors and in adverse weather conditions. **How do I qualify?**: **Mandatory**: You must meet **all** eligibility criteria by the first day of employment (contracts begin between May and July): - **Age**: You must be a minimum of 15 years of age.
