Parts Desk Associate

Span Medical Products has offered the industry's most comprehensive line of specialty solutions for pressure management and patient positioning - we manufacture hospital beds, primarily for long term care facilities. **Our Beamsville plant **is recruiting for a Parts Desk Associate on the afternoon shift.
Our staring rate is $17.50 per hour, with increases after 90 working days, 12 months, and annually every November after 2 years’ service. Comprehensive employee benefits after 6 months of employment.
Afternoon Shift - Monday to Friday, 3pm to 11pm - 60¢ shift premium applies.
Position responsibilities include;
- Check order lists for the day and identify stock and non-stock items to ship.
- Pull materials for parts orders and prepare for shipment.
- Look up on-demand work orders and assemble the complete parts orders, as necessary.
- Package, label and prepare shipments of products; complete bills of lading, customs documentation, receiving documents, and shipping labels within computerized system.
- Direct contact with freight carriers/couriers to arrange timely pickup of shipments.
- Print out end of day procedures and manifests for courier providers.
- Monitor stock levels of parts and packaging supplies; advise Purchasing for reorder, as required.
- Assist Shipping department with the manual loading and unloading oftrucks, as required.
- Report scrap, defective parts or material, and any condition (i.e. unsafe or off standard), that may negatively affect customer orders.
- Maintain good housekeeping and safety standards as specified.
To be successful in this role, we are seeking;
- Completion of high school diploma
- Computer literate and able to learn courier and Visual Manufacturing operating systems.
- Must have excellent customer service skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Must have high attention to detail, level of accuracy, ability to follow exacting procedures and logical reasoning.
- Must be able to perform physical requirements of the position; bending, twisting, turning, reaching, use of both hands and repetitive lifting up to 40 lbs, as required to assist in Shipping.
- Be able to work overtime as shipping demand dictates.
- Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Must be able to operate in a self-managed team environment
- Must have own transportation, as there is no bus accessibility
