**Position Summary**:
This position is responsible for providing support to the implementation of the Northern Regional Men’s Health and Wellness action plan. Supports the engagement, collaboration, coordination and implementation of the key priorities outlined in the Men’s Health and Wellness action plan. The Men’s Health and Wellness Coordinator ensures that the Men’s Health and Wellness Action plan aligns with the overarching, holistic Northern First Nations Health and Wellness Plan. The Coordinator participates in developing and supporting local community engagement activities as part of a regional team. In addition, this role ensures that engagement functions and resources are effectively integrated, organized and leveraged to meet strategic and operational needs within the local area or sub-region.

**As a health and wellness organization, the First Nations Health Authority has aligned with the Provincial Public Health Order released on October 14, 2021. We have a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy for all employees at First Nations Health Authority. This policy requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. **Responsibilities**:

- Provides coordination support in implementing activities with the regional team and First Nations Communities, as determined in the Men’s Health and Wellness Action Plan from the Regional engagement summary.
- Organizes and participates in engagement activities to support alignment with regional wide evaluation, processes, and reporting requirements.
- Works collaboratively with internal FNHA teams to support the funding framework, the investment strategy, and development of the Men’s Health and Wellness Action Plan by, a) seeking input, engaging and supporting Communities to identify potential initiatives and partners for funding opportunities, and b) providing support in administering the allocation of funds as determined by the investment strategy.
- Under the direction of the Men’s Health and Wellness Action Plan Advisory Group and regional management, participates in maintaining and establishing networks for the ongoing support in Men’s Health and Wellness programs and services.
- Acts as a first level contact for information related to initiatives of Men’s health and wellness, provides administration and coordination to regional management in promoting and building capacity with a focus on engagement and culturally safe practices in the Community.A full job description is available upon request.

**Qualifications**:

- Diploma with demonstrated coursework in First Nations studies, plus 1 to 2 years of significant, recent, and relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience,
- Experience in the regional health authority systems/services/services, and in particular working with First Nations individuals, communities or organizations on issues related to health and wellness
- Experience coordinating and delivering traditional health and wellness/medicine within community
- Experience in working with budgets

**Knowledge, Skills & Attributes**:

- In depth knowledge of Northern BC First Nation traditional health and wellness, cultural protocols and traditional practices
- In-depth knowledge of the BC health care system, and the current landscape of First Nations health in BC
- In-depth knowledge of Aboriginal/First Nations health and wellness system needs
- Thorough understanding of relationship based care to provide holistic, integrated, coordinated, and high-quality care that respects diversity and culture
