**Job Description**:
We currently have an opening for a **Construction Inspector (Junior/Intermediate)** in our **Victoria**office.

Duties and responsibilities will include:

- Communicating effectively and demonstrating strong organizational and leadership skills in a dynamic work environment.
- Working with Professional Engineers and Technologists on construction inspection and contract administration projects in the South Island area of Vancouver Island.
- Collaborating with a diverse client base, including Municipal, Institutional, Provincial, Federal, and Private Sector clients.
- Delivering projects related to transportation, water, facilities, and infrastructure.
- Monitoring the Contractor’s operations to ensure compliance with contract terms, design specifications, and drawings.
- Monitoring progress and schedules.
- Preparing daily & weekly reports.
- Maintaining projects records and site diaries.
- Reviewing contractor work procedure submissions.
- Monitoring of quality control testing.
- Reviewing on-site quantities.
- Contract administration.

**Job Requirements**:
What you will bring:

- Undergraduate degree or Diploma in Civil or Structural Engineering or Technology from an accredited post-secondary institution.
- 2+ years of progressive experience in civil construction inspection and contract administration.
- Experience in a consulting firm environment considered an asset.
- Experience with contract administration and construction inspection principles, practices, and techniques.
- Proven technical skills.
- Knowledge and understanding of Master Municipal Constriction Documents (MMCD).
- Construction management skills are an asset.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Committed team player with ability to work independently with minimum direction when required.
- Shows close attention to detail and takes pride in your work, both for large and small sized projects.
- Demonstrates interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Committed to client service and production excellence.
- Ability to coordinate with other engineering disciplines.
- Client liaison.
- Willingness and ability to travel.
- Valid driver’s license.

The salary range for this position is $52,240 to $83,200, and is commensurate with experience relative to this position.
