The Tax Analyst, Trust, verifies and remits withholding taxes to CRA (Canada and Revenue Agency) and IRS (Internal Revenue Service) on a timely basis. Follows the guidelines of government tax authorities or company tax professionals, responds to tax related inquiries from clients and other departments. At year-end the individual is responsible for extracting and balancing tax forms for mailing and filing to the tax authorities.
- This role is hybrid (2 - 3 days/week in the office) - based in Toronto, ON._

Key Accountabilities:
- Maintain tax files for clients, including: tax directions, filer IDs, and authorizations.- Ensure that client disbursements are balanced on the system and that year-to-date totals are correct, on an ongoing basis.- Complete monthly reconciliations.- Submit Receiver General payments to the CRA.- Forward IRS tax remittances to the IRS.- Consult interdepartmentally to ensure tax adjustments are complete and accurate.- Participate in tax planning meetings.- Perform user testing of the tax systems and tax processes; submit change requests to the Manager upon identifying problems or inefficiencies.- Create, balance, audit and prepare for filing various information returns.- Coordinate the production of manual or other tax forms.- Coordinate regulatory annual mailings.- Research, and reconcile any imbalances and inaccuracies- Update and maintain accurate tax lot reporting data in Cost Basis system to ensure compliance- Meet assigned timelines.- Escalate issues, as appropriate.- Ensure that standard methodology and best practices are employed.- Ensure compliance with policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.-
- Provide management reporting, as required.- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Must Have(s):
- College diploma or university degree in business, finance or accounting, or equivalent experience.- 1 to 3 years experience in a similar role.- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office & Google Suite required

Nice Have (s):
- Knowledge of Tax software, CCH software, and Tax Prep software packages (Asset)- Financial services industry experience, an asset
