The Lower Similkameen Community Services Society, a multi-service organization supporting residents from early to senior years across the rural communities of Keremeos, Cawston, Hedley, and Olalla, is looking for a dedicated Child & Youth Mental Health Clinician.

**Position Overview**
- **Role** Child & Youth Mental Health Clinician
- **Location** Princeton, BC
- **Pay ** $44.36 per hour, plus 5% in lieu of statutory holiday pay (Grid 44, Step 2, UFCW Collective Agreement)

**Responsibilities**:
The Clinician will deliver clinical services for children, youth, and their families who face serious emotional, psychological, behavioral, or psychiatric challenges. Specific duties include:

- **Collaboration**: Work with the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD), the School District, and other community service providers to offer a range of mental health services.
- **Clinical Services**: Manage intake assessments, provide psychosocial assessments, clinical counseling, crisis intervention, and therapeutic support. Address complex behavioral, social, and emotional disturbances for children referred by MCFD’s Child & Youth Mental Health Services.
- **Treatment Planning**: Develop, implement, and adjust individualized treatment plans. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, and consult with psychologists, psychiatrists, and pediatricians to ensure holistic care.
- **Therapeutic Support**: Conduct family sessions, parent groups, individual child counseling, and psychoeducation, utilizing therapeutic models like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness.
- **Community-Based Services**: Deliver services in LSCSS offices, schools, homes, or other community locations as required to meet clients’ needs.

**Required Qualifications**

**Education**: Master’s degree in Social Work, Educational Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Child and Youth Care, or a comparable graduate degree.

**Experience**: Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in child and youth mental health, including community-based mental health services. Training or experience in program planning, group facilitation, and family and child work under high-risk conditions is preferred.

**Skills and Knowledge**:

- **Core Knowledge**: Child development, parenting, family systems, family violence, cross-cultural issues, community resources, and conflict resolution.
- **Treatment Modalities**: Proficiency in intervention strategies, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, and other mental health treatment models.
- **Relevant Issues**: Awareness of substance abuse, suicide prevention, and child protection
- **Current Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training**
- **Trauma-Informed Practice Training**
- **Indigenous Awareness Training**
- **LGBTQ2S+ Awareness Training**
- **Mental Health First Aid**
