**Function & Overview**

Reporting to the Unit Manager - Skilled Trades, the Unit Coordinator - Skilled Trades organizes and administers academic services for the development, planning, delivery, and quality assurance of educational offerings in the Skilled Trades Department/Unit, enhancing program success and learner engagement with a focus on Skilled Trades programs. The position provides administrative support to the Unit Manager - Skilled Trades and general support to teaching staff. The Unit Coordinator - Skilled Trades is required to perform all duties consistent with the governance values and operating policies of Six Nations Polytechnic (SNP) while fostering positive relations with staff, students, stakeholders, and the community; contributing to a culturally supportive teaching, learning and work environment consistent with Hodinǫshǫ:nih/Rotinonhson:ni values of Ga’nigohi:yo:/Kanikoriio (Respect and the Good Mind).

**Duties**

The duties of the Unit Coordinator - Skilled Trades include, without limitation:
**Program Planning, Delivery & Quality Assurance**
- Participating in enrolment planning and recruitment activities, attending “Information Night” and “Open House” sessions; and supporting the creation and dissemination of recruitment materials;
- Overseeing the calendar of important dates, tasks, and deadlines, soliciting updates from and issuing monthly and biweekly reminders to all staff; and maintaining the Unit’s Outlook calendar;
- In each term, allocating space and other necessary physical resources for program delivery, in collaboration with appropriate Units, to ensure efficiencies and avoid conflicts and service redundancies; and ensure facilities are in smooth operating condition;
- In each term, coordinating Instructor orientation activities and Learning Management System training(s);
- Participating in the recruitment, admission, and registration processes for Skilled Trade applicants, as required; maintaining documentation of participant files/database and records of service provided, including program tracking reports;
- Maintaining program records including completed outlines for all assigned courses, checking for correct and complete formatting and resolving errors and/or omissions; ensuring the efficient collection, recording, verification, and forwarding of course materials, following Unit, funder and/or partner processes; maintaining complete electronic files of such records at the program level; and support the academic audit process in each term;
- Participating in the planning and coordination of professional development for teaching and support staff, including potential collaboration with other Units for shared learning opportunities;
- Participating in the cyclic review and quality assurance of all programs, including performance reviews, Instructor and student focus groups, and strategic recommendations and responsive action plans;
- Distributing blank course evaluation forms at the midpoint and end of each program; collecting, collating, recording, and summarizing data arising from course evaluations; participating in unit processes for distribution of course feedback to Instructors; and maintain complete electronic files of such records at the program level;

**Communications & Records**
- Responding to incoming program and course inquiries; demonstrating positive and solution-oriented messaging on all aspects of program planning, delivery, and review, in communications with both internal and external constituencies;
- Serving as Communications lead: responding to requests for program status and updates, promotional narratives, and contributions to other relevant external-facing publications, including program pages on the SNP website and the institution’s Viewbook;
- Maintaining orderly, complete, and accessible Unit records, including libraries of forms, policies, processes, and meeting minutes, holding to the highest standards of confidentiality and utilizing approved electronic file naming conventions;

**General Administration**
- Developing an approved annual work plan for the efficient and effective discharge of all duties’;
- Participating in the inter-Unit planning and delivery of student orientation, Annual Celebration, community, and other events;
- Participating in staff, Board, ad hoc and ordinary committee, working group, and program advisory meetings, and staff training and information sessions, as required;
