Reporting to the Manager, Urban Health - Harm Reduction Services, and using a harm reduction approach, your
position supports peer workers who offer supply distribution, harm reduction information and support to others living
in their building. The position includes the recruitment, training and supervision of peer satellite harm reduction
workers, establishing and maintaining community links and partnerships, identifying needs and gaps in care, and
developing, implementing and monitoring health education strategies and programs to meet said needs. Overall
program execution, evaluation and quality assurance will be your responsibility, from developing, implementing,
maintaining and evaluating goals and objectives, to developing and following appropriate protocols and policies, to
maintaining timely, accurate written and electronic client records, reports and correspondence.
This is a highly interactive role that will see you developing professional and social networks, and liaising internally
with other Harm Reduction Workers, and with external agencies and groups regarding the needs of drug users,
with a special focus on expanding services, enhancing access to treatment, and advocating on issues affecting
folks in the Parkdale drug using community. **Majority of work will be based at the Parkdale site although the**
**position crosses both the Parkdale and Queen West sites.**
**Qualifications**:
- Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline from a recognized university, or a combination of some post
- secondary education and experience in relevant field.
- 3 to 5 years’ relevant experience in a community setting, and expertise in workshop design and facilitation,
and program development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
- Experience working with marginalized communities such as homeless and under-housed people, street
- Proficiency in one or more languages other than English, and personal/lived experience of drug use,
homelessness, and/or street involvement would be considered assets.
**Compensation**: $54,254 to $66,102 per annum, plus Group Benefits and HOOPP (Healthcare of Ontario
Pension Plan) option.
