**Primary Educator Daycare**

Job Summary

Early Childhood Educators (Levels 2 and 3) are responsible for developing and implementing a developmentally appropriate, educational program to care for children, between the ages of 12 months to 12 years. Primary Educators must ensure the development and safety of children in accordance with relevant federal, provincial and internal Curious Learners Inc. centre policies. Our Early Learning Educators will be respectful of children and parents and develop opportunities that will support the emotional, physical, cognitive and social needs of the children in our care.

We are looking for an educator who enjoys working with preschoolers (mixed age range varies from 2.5 years up to six years)

**Shift Schedule**:
Monday to Friday

7:00 am to 4:00 pm with an hour unpaid lunch break
- Professional Development Opportunities with access to provincial PD funding towards workshops, conferences, and post-secondary tuition
- Any overtime is banked and taken as paid time off.
- Dedicated PD Day every year
- Company paid benefits after successful probationary period.

We use the Flight Curriculum framework to guide us in our work with the children that is based on their interests and focused on child-centered emergent curriculum.

**Applicant requirements**:

- Early Learning and Childcare Certificate (Level II) or Diploma (Level III) (preferred or equivalencies)
- Experience in working with children ages 2.5 - 6 years (Preschool age)
- Critical thinking and reflection skills
- Ability to provide a strength-based, positive, and respectful approach to child-guidance
- Good communications skills in English (spoken and written)
- Current Childcare First Aid
- Police security Clearance with vulnerable sector search (dated within the last 6 months)
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
- Willingness to enroll in the Flight course

**Asset**
- Familiar with “Play, Participation, and Possibilities: An Early Learning and Child Care Curriculum Framework for Alberta” (Flight) or
- Flight certificate
- Worked with children with diverse needs
- Familiar with the Pyramid Teaching Model ASaP (Access Support and Participation)
- Experience working with school age children (6 - 12 years)

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $19.05-$24.62 per hour
