The main purpose of the Anti-Racism Junior Policy Analyst is to provide research, analysis, key support and quality recommendations to support the projects and initiatives of the Anti-Racism Office. The incumbent has a considerable role in policy, research, program development and project implementation, including work related to Cabinet processes, policy development, and research. The role will also include collaborating with community organizations and stakeholders to inform policy direction and support the work of the Anti-Racism office. The Anti-Racism Junior Policy Analyst will be required to engage with provincial government departments and internal or external agencies in support of this work.

Supervised by the Manager of Anti-Racism Initiatives and under direction of other senior staff of the Executive Council Office, including the Deputy Clerk, Deputy Secretary to Cabinet and Deputy Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs, the incumbent will provide support on a wide range of duties, including but not limited to, policy development, project development, timeline monitoring, and execution.

**Duties will include but are not limited to**:

- The Anti-Racism Junior Policy Analyst will be responsible to complete projects assigned by Director or Manager of Anti-Racism Initiatives, and as required, senior staff of the Executive Council Office to assist with the delivery of strategic initiatives, including support on a wide range of duties related to race-based data collection, interpretation and maintaining resources for departments.
- Assist with the implementation of the Anti-Racism Action Plan for the Anti-Racism Office.
- Perform research on best practices, policies and interventions related to anti-racism efforts, support the development and implementation of policies and procedures aimed at addressing systemic racism and promoting equity within the organization.
- Collect and analyze qualitative and quantitative information for the purpose of project development.
- The Anti-Racism Junior Policy Analyst will be responsible to develop and implement policies that supports the initiatives of the Anti-Racism Office.
- Provide key support, research and recommendations on a broad range of policy work and strategies related to anti-racism and discrimination.
- Assist the Director or Manager of the Anti-Racism Office with engaging with internal and external stakeholders to collect information related to project research, content and deliverables.
- Assist with sharing relevant data-related information with the Anti-Racism Table ahead of meetings with departments and to assist projects led by subcommittees.
- The incumbent will provide quality research functions and analysis related to Legislation, Program and Policy Review.
- Research and review new and substantive amendments to legislation through an equity lens to identify barriers.
- Research and review Executive Council submissions for identifying barriers and solutions before being approved.
- Research and review previous applicable decisions of the various cabinet committees to address barriers to racialized and indigenous communities.

**Minimum Qualifications**:

- Successful completion of a post-secondary program, such as a bachelor’s degree or College Diploma in Business Administration, Public Policy, Political Science, Research Methods, Public Administration, Social Sciences, or related discipline.
- Experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
- Some experience in meeting tight timelines.
- Some experience in identifying, retrieving, analyzing, evaluating and synthesizing evidence from reports and documents.
- Some experience in working with, or engagement in community organizations or groups.
- Some experience in facilitating and presenting information in a clear, concise and accurate manner through effective written, oral and visual communication.
- Strong interpersonal and intercultural communications skills with the ability to foster collaboration and partnerships.
- Knowledge and or/lived experience of equity-deserving communities.

**Other Qualifications**:

- Project coordination experience considered an asset.
- Active engagement with diverse community organizations or ethnic/underrepresented groups is an asset.
- Bilingualism or multilingualism is an asset.
