**ROLE DESCRIPTION**

The Buyer will be responsible for performing a variety of clerical duties, ensuring orderly and timely delivery of materials from vendors as well as assisting in negotiating non-complex contractual arrangements between Insight Canada and selected vendors.

**Essential Functions of the Job**:

- Perform a variety of clerical duties to ensure that merchandise, supplies, and equipment are shipped on schedule by vendors.
- Maintain stock rotation and accuracy of inventory levels.
- Inspect all invoices and receiving reports to determine if quantity ordered matches quantity received; review prices, and payment terms to ensure agreement with purchase order and dispose of discrepancies.
- Maintain interface with vendors to ensure the procurement of high-quality merchandise, expedient delivery, and dependable service at optimum price, referring problems involving deliveries or invoices to the team lead for resolution.
- Assist in negotiating contractual arrangements between Insight Canada and selected vendors committing Insight Canada funds up to authorize limits, place orders.
- Assist in research and analysis of markets to determine vendor sources and product availability; keep abreast of market fluctuations affecting prices; inform team lead of new product development.
- Prepare and process various forms involving change orders, exception reports, bid requests, and other buying procedures; price requisitions as required.
- Provide Finance with information required to set up a new Vendor.
- Perform administrative work such as filing to assist and relieve manager of clerical duties; screen mail and compose correspondence based on general instruction.
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS**

**Education and/or Experience**:

- Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English.

**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES**
- Strong customer service and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills with a well-developed professional phone manner and a focus on positive, productive business relationships.
- Strong organizational skills including effective prioritization and follow-up.
- Ability to analyze problems and provide solutions.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong proficiency with Excel, Word, and Windows.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task effectively and work well under pressure and tight timelines.
- Ability to deal with confidential information with a high degree of diplomacy.
- Understands and demonstrates the willingness to promote Insight Canada’s vision and values.
