**Youth Crime Prevention Link Worker**
**Part Time 14 Hours Per Week**
**Term - June 3, 2025 - March 31, 2027**
**Wage: $25.00/hour**
**SUMMARY OF FUNCTION**:
The Crime Prevention Link Worker plays an integral role in bridging the gap between at-risk youth aged 12-24 and social programs that prevent offending behaviors (theft, violence, vandalism, etc.). As a youth services professional, you partner with community and youth-serving organizations to provide non-judicial support to prevent and divert youth from re-offending or becoming involved in offending behaviors.
**ACCOUNTABILITIES**
- Complete an assessment of needs for youth accessing the Crime Prevention program
- Provide resource information, referral and supports as required to clients
- Make referrals to appropriate internal and external programs and services
- Assist youth and families in the navigation of services and system.
- Help youth connect with and organize delivery of services for youth with unmet needs
- Network with agencies involved in this program
- Liaise with professionals and community agencies involved with youth (RCMP, Youth Justice Committee, Municipal Enforcement, schools, etc.)
- Attending appointments or programs with youth to overcome barriers, where appropriate
- Collaborate with other agencies and professionals in the community for the benefit of the client
- Report to the Youth Services Supervisor any issues, concerns, or hazards about the clients
- Connect clients to various supports that may prevent them from offending behaviors
**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**
- Diploma/degree in Social Work, Justice Studies, Addictions and Mental Health, Child & Youth Work, or enrolled in a relevant program of studies preferred
- 1-year related experience or equivalent
- Class 5 Alberta Drivers License
- RCMP Based Vulnerable Sector Check
- Proven expertise in building relationships with youth, families and community Organizations
- Knowledge of community resources available to support youth
- Experience working with youth who may have challenging behaviors or barriers to school/community success: such as ADHD, Autism, Grief & Loss, Depression, Addictions and Mental Health complexities
**Job Type**: Part-time
Pay: $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 14 per week
