**Training and Development Specialist**

**(Full-Time)**

At Community Care Durham (CCD), coordinated networks of volunteers and inter-professional staff, working out of integrated community hubs and other locations, strive to enrich the well-being and quality of life for people who choose to live at home. As the largest community support services agency in Durham Region, CCD collaborates with its partners and the broader community to address community issues and support local citizens to achieve their goals to live independently.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Conducts annual needs assessments to identify skills and knowledge gaps and clearly define goals and objectives to improve productivity, enhance skills and support career development;
- Collects feedback from staff, managers and volunteers to understand training needs and preferences;
- Reviews performance data to identify specific areas of training and creates annual training matrix to meet training goals and objectives;
- Develops and oversees an organizational wide training calendar, with annual priorities identified in collaboration with the management team;
- Designs training programs through content development, defined learning methods, outlined course content and structures;
- Establishes resources of internal and external SME, materials, tools and technology to facilitate training and maintains a repository of training material, including learning management system;
- Implements new programs through pilot testing, collects feedback, adjusts and launches upon approval ensuring clear communication on the programs purpose and logistics;
- Evaluates training through feedback mechanisms to effectively measure outcomes and access the impact of the training on performance and business goals;
- Integrates continuous quality improvements through regular reviews and updates to training program based on feedback and organizational needs;
- Remains current within industry trends, best practices and new training methodologies to enhance the program over time;
- Collaborates with managers and supervisors to evaluate site and program specific training provided to ensure consistency in practices, while focusing on initial training required to support CCD business practices, processes, use of technology and communications;
- Supports overall organizational wide compliance through the delivery of training in Incident Reporting, Privacy and Confidentiality, Continuous Quality Improvement, Quality and Safety, Risk Managment, etc.;
- Supports the delivery of training compliance as required through the Joint Health and Safety, Accessibility of Ontarians with Disabilities, Diversity Equity and Inclusion, Quality and Safety committees, etc.

**Qualifications required**:

- Post secondary education in Human Resources Management, Education, Business Administration or equivalent experience and education in related field
- Minimum three (3) years of experience preferred
- Proven experience in corporate training, including facilitation or instruction is required
- Knowledge of legislative requirements including the Employment Standards Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, and Human Rights is an asset
- Experience using e-learning platforms and tools (e.g., Learning Management System, webinars, etc.).
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office is required
- Strong communication and presentation skills both verbal and written is required
- Ability to multitask and prioritize multiple competing demands is required
- Capacity to build and maintain positive relations with internal teams and programs as well as community partners
- Attention to detail on monitoring and reporting
- Satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check 
- Sensitivity to adults with needs related to aging, physical and/or mental health 
- Must work in a safe manner and promote the health and safety of all staff, volunteers, clients and the community as outlined within CCD policies 

**Compensation**:Starting at $70,000 annually; three (3) weeks’ vacation per year of work (pro-rated to hours worked); 9 paid (including stat) holidays, 3 float days; health, insurance, and pension benefits when eligible.
