**NETWORK AND WINDOWS SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR**
Provide IT technical knowledge and support under the guidance of the Director of IT & Cyber Security.
As the Network and Windows System Administrator you will be responsible for the entire IT infrastructure, focusing on maintaining and enhancing Windows environments, managing logical and physical networks, and ensuring strong firewall and network security protocols. You will handle the day-to-day administration of servers, networks, and firewalls and drive the development of IT strategies to ensure business continuity and security. A deep understanding of OSI layers and how they relate to network architecture, security, and troubleshooting is essential.
This role combines hands-on technical expertise with IT management responsibilities, making you the organization’s go-to person for IT-related issues and strategic IT initiatives. This is a position that supports multiple locations, in Concord, ON, Tillsonburg, ON and White City, SK. A willingness to travel to each location may be a requirement.
**Your skills and competencies will help you**:
- Administer and manage Windows (365) Server environments, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
- Configure, monitor, and maintain firewalls (e.g., Fortinet, Cisco, or similar).
- Implement and manage advanced security features such as VPNs, SSL inspection, content filtering, and threat intelligence integration.
- Design, implement, and manage both physical network infrastructure (routers, switches, cabling, patch panels, etc.) and logical network architecture (subnets, VLANs, routing, IP addressing schemes, etc.).
- Clear understanding of the OSI Model
- Ensuring compliance with industry standards (e.g., NIST, CMMC, ISO 27001).
- Develop IT policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Provide day-to-day technical support to employees, troubleshooting network, firewall, and server-related issues.
- Manage IT helpdesk services to promptly resolve technical issues and requests.
- Lead IT projects, including network design / upgrades, system migrations, and security implementations.
**We are seeking a person with the following skill set and competencies**:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Networking, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Industry certifications, such as **Cisco CCNA/CCNP**, **Fortinet NSE**, or **CompTIA Network+** an asset.
- Microsoft certifications (MCSA, MCSE) related to Windows environments an asset.
- 2 plus years’ experience with Network and Linux/Windows administration.
- Strong hands-on experience with network firewalls, including configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Expertise in networking protocols, including VLANs, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF).
- Experience with network design and physical infrastructure setup.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices, including firewall rules, intrusion detection, VPN setup, and vulnerability assessments.
- Experience managing virtualized environments (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud technologies (Azure, Office 365) an asset.
- Familiarity with security frameworks like NIST, CMMC, or ISO 27001 an asset.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex network and security issues.
- Strong project management skills to oversee network upgrades and IT infrastructure projects.
- On-call availability for critical IT and network issues outside of business hours.
- May require lifting and installation of physical IT hardware (servers, switches, cabling).
