**About the Role**

The Reinsurance Administration Analyst is a key contact between Berkshire Hathaway and an assigned group of Insurance Companies (Clients).

The Analyst is responsible for analyzing and validating Client reporting for accuracy, timeliness and completeness. You will ensure completeness of Client information and records in Berkshire’s Reinsurance Administration system, and use this information to support trend analysis, risk identification and the development of action plans to correct issues. You will communicate information regarding Client issues and unusual reporting trends to internal stakeholders and partner with the Divisional Reinsurance Administration Manager to resolve them.

This position will report directly to the Divisional Reinsurance Administration Manager.

**Key Responsibilities of the role**:

- For an assigned group of Insurance Companies, process, analyze and validate client reporting and associated premium payments to ensure completeness and accuracy;
- Develop effective working relationships with external and internal clients;
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative (analytical and trending) in-depth analysis on client reported data to assess issues and identify potential risks and impacts;
- Analyze control reports and escalate any issues with known or potential financial impacts;
- Ensure key administrative risks are identified and participate in the suggestion and implementation of mitigation strategies;
- Execute a variety of processes utilizing Microsoft Office, Business Intelligence tools and Berkshire’s Reinsurance Administration System;
- Adhere to monthly and quarterly timelines;
- Participate in planned projects including process automation and enhancement of data management;
- Actively seek enhancements and propose recommendations for new processes to improve efficiencies;
- Support ad hoc tasks as required.

**What you will bring to the role**:

- 3 to 5 years of experience in life insurance or reinsurance operations;
- Post-secondary degree;
- Keen attention to detail with strong analytical, problem solving and interpersonal skills;
- Strong ability to critically evaluate client data;
- Familiarity with standard reinsurance terms;
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and experience with Business Intelligence tools;
- Exposure to data management, data mining, building analytics reports and process automation;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Strong client service focus;
- Ability to function effectively in a changing environment.
