**About the Role**:
DYAC is seeking a high-energy Assistant Volleyball Coach to support our Youth Skills Clinic for ages 8-12. This outdoor clinic runs once a week for 5 weeks in July, making it a perfect opportunity for a student or sports enthusiast looking for short-term summer coaching experience. Long-term opportunity can be discussed after summer term.

**Qualifications**:

- Must be 15 years of age or older
- Friendly, enthusiastic, and responsible
- Basic volleyball knowledge or experience (playing or coaching)
- Comfortable working with children ages 8-12
- Previous leadership or volunteer experience is a plus
- CPR/First Aid an asset (not required)

**Schedule & Commitment**:

- Wednesdays in July (5 weeks)
- 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
- Outdoor sessions (weather permitting)

**Duties**
- Plan and conduct effective training sessions that focus on skill development, strategy, and teamwork.
- Educate players on the rules of volleyball, techniques, and game strategies to enhance their understanding of the sport.
- Organize and oversee practices, ensuring they are engaging and productive.
- Evaluate player performance and provide constructive feedback to help them improve.
- Foster a supportive team culture that encourages sportsmanship, discipline, and respect among players.
- Coordinate with parents and guardians regarding player progress and team activities.
- Assist in organizing competitions, tournaments, and other events related to the volleyball program.

**Skills**
- Strong knowledge of volleyball techniques, strategies, and rules.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively educate players and engage with parents.
- Ability to motivate and inspire athletes of varying skill levels.
- Experience in coaching or playing volleyball at a competitive level is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills to manage schedules, practices, and events effectively.

Pay: $22.30-$24.38 per hour

Expected hours: 4 per week
