Accounting Specialist

For almost 60 years, Simpson Print has delivered innovative printing through integrative uses of High-Resolution Screen, UV Offset, and Wide Format Print Technologies. Our company is growing and accordingly, we are looking to add to our accounting team, we have begun the search for an Accounting Specialist who will look after many of our day-to-day accounting processes.

We’re looking for someone who enjoys variety and a challenge in a dynamic industry. Reporting to the Controller, this varied role will be responsible for the full cycle of accounting activities.

**Responsibilities**
- Invoicing and collections
- Recording AR: All remittances on a timely basis
- Cash Control and AP full cycle: checking, recording invoices in a timely manner, prepare weekly supplier payments and filing
- Prepares monthly credit card reconciliations and related journal entries
- Bank Reconciliations
- Monthly reporting and job costing
- Perform full cycle month-end process including journal entries, accruals
- Files monthly sales Tax
- Assists in the preparation of materials for the annual financial statement review
- Payroll including payroll entries (group benefits, WSIB, EHT, etc.)
- Other duties as assigned from time to time

**Requirements**:

- Post-Secondary Degree in Accounting and finance or related
- Several years experience in full cycle accounting
- Printing industry or manufacturing experience would be an asset
- Experience in accounting software transition - Sage, QuickBooks or other accounting system
- Self starter
- ability to work independently
- Team player and flexible
- able to prioritize
- Excellent communication skills
- Detail oriented with strong focus on accuracy
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Strong aptitude for learning and understanding systems
