**This position is for a casual supply teacher position to cover staffing shortages when needed**

**The Educator must have a high degree of emotional and physical stamina, a high level of empathy, maturity, patience, objectivity and have the capacity to form meaningful relationships with children and their families, staff and volunteers, based on a genuine interest in helping them.**

**The Educator must ensure procedures, carry out the requirements under the Day Nursery Act (DNA), policy decisions of ABC’s Board of Directors and fulfil the goals and objectives of ABC. Educator must hold the necessary legislative licenses and other skills and qualifications, or the equivalent thereof, to perform the duties of the position. It is essential that the Educator holds a valid standard first aid with infant and child CPR, a negative TB test, valid VSS and have an understanding of the ABC anaphylaxis protocol.**

**Experience with children age 2.5 - 4 is required**

**A diploma in Early Childhood Education (or relevant education) is preferred**

**The Educator shall be responsible**:

- to assist in daily physical setup and maintenance of the nursery school;
- to assist in the planning and implanting of developmentally appropriate activities and experiences in accordance with the supervisor and center's program statement.
- for the safekeeping, nutrition and health of each child during nursery school activities;
- for maintaining good public relations with the parents and community;
- for initial entry of new children into the school, and for building and maintaining rapport with the parents;
- for advising the supervisor of any irregular happenings in the school;
- to attend staff/chairperson meetings;
- to attend General membership meetings
- to prepare a written self-evaluation, at the frequency and discretion of the Board of Directors;
- to form positive relationships with the children;
- to be in attendance on special program activities and any other open houses, as required;
- to provide input to supervisor for children’s progress reports;

- to purchase the school snack on a bi-weekly basis or as otherwise specified.

**Job Type**: Casual

**Salary**: $21.00 per hour

- Secondary School (preferred)

**Experience**:
