OCAD University (OCAD U) is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physician to join our multidisciplinary team at the University’s Student Wellness Centre (SWC). This is an independent contractor role providing in-person medical care to post-secondary students (ages 17+), through both booked and same day appointments.
**Summary of Responsibilities**:
- Deliver health care services within your scope of practice, for example, physical exams, STI screening, immunizations, cervical screening, gender affirming care, sexual health counselling, and contraceptive care
- Support students’ mental health needs with appropriate clinical care
- Participate in internal and external consultation meetings that support the overall work of SWC
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic student wellness
- Stay current in the field through professional development and association membership
**Qualifications**:
- Licensed Physician in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario
- Demonstrated experience in mental health care, particularly in a post-secondary setting
- Experience with gender-affirming care is an asset
- Strong judgement and discretion in handling confidential and sensitive situations
- Ability to remain calm and exercise sound judgement in crisis situations
- Proficiency with electronic medical records; experience with Telus PS Suite is an asset
- Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written
- Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion, and ability to work effectively with a diverse student population
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
**Hours of Work**:
- Minimum of 1-2 days per week (Monday to Friday)
- Flexible scheduling
- Start Date: August 2025
**Compensation**:
- Fee for Service via OHIP/UHIP billings and Canadian Provincial Health Insurance Programs
- A reasonable administrative overhead fee applies
- Terms to be outlined in an independent contractor agreement
