Strathcona Excavating Inc. is a professional contractor that specializes in custom and unique solutions for repairs and installation of all water and wastewater infrastructure.

We are hiring for the following positions:
**Equipment Operator**
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience as Excavator Operator working on underground projects
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to operate an Excavator/Track hoe in a safe manner.
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment.
- Read and interpret ground markings and locate tickets.
- Use an excavator to dig trenches to proper grade and depth.
- Ability to work with trench boxes.

**Pipelayer**
- Check grades for conformance using levels/lasers.
- Lay out pipe routes, following written instructions or blueprints and coordinating layouts with supervisors.
- Cut pipes to required lengths.
- Align and position pipes to prepare them for welding or sealing.
- Connect pipe pieces and seal joints, using welding equipment, cement, or glue.
- Install or repair water, sanitary, storm water, sewer assemblies or pipe arrangements.
- Grade or level trench bases, using tamping machines or hand tools.
- Perform other duties as required.

**Labourer - Roles and Responsibilities**
- Assist all field personnel as required.
- Operate hand and power tools of all forms.
- Load and unload tools, equipment and materials.
- Prepare/Clean sites.
- Direct traffic as necessary
- Mix, pour concrete.
- Perform other duties as needed.

**Required Experience**
- Valid Class 5 driver's license and reliable transportation
- 1 or more years' experience as a laborer.
- 2 or more years' experience as a pipelayer / Equipment Operator
- Preference given to those with water/sewer experience.
- Must be physically fit and able to complete manual tasks.
- CSTS and other safety certifications pertaining to position, or the ability to obtain such.

**Additional Requirements**
- CSA approved steel toed boots.
- These positions often require overtime and are seasonal in nature.

**Salary**: $22.00-$40.00 per hour
