**ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY**
We are seeking a highly motivated, team-orientated individual to join our Finance Team as a **Finance Administrative and Travel Assistant.**

Reporting to the Manager of Financial Systems and Processing, the primary purpose of the Finance Administrative and Travel Assistant is to coordinate the workflow of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable and to provide administrative support for MNBC travel.

**KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Managing Accounts Payable workflow including quality assurance:

- Assigning and prioritizing items for processing and monitoring workflow
- Assigning queries to Accounts Payable staff
- Assigning data entry for MNBC clients
- Assign outstanding items for follow-up
- Assigning contracts and contract amendment for data entry
- Coordinate with ministry staff for program processing and workflow
- Managing and coordinating travel related correspondence
- Assist with any travel-related queries
- Collaborate with the Events & Project Lead in booking travel for special events
- Collaborate with the MNBC travel service provider as needed
- Assisting internal and external stakeholders with any issues regarding travel or accommodation that arise
- Provide additional support as needed to the finance managers
- Ensure compliance with MNBC policies and procedures
- Any other job duties as assigned

**THE IDEAL CANDIDATE**
- Knowledge and/or awareness of the historical and contemporary contributions made by Métis people in B.C.
- Degree or diploma in the field of Accounting or Business Administration
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in a related field
- Combination of relevant experience, education and training will be considered.
- Knowledge of applicable rules and regulations
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate both verbally and writing
- Proven ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work with mínimal supervision
- Proven ability to utilize, adapt and embrace new technologies, including Word, Excel and other database/software required by the role

**OTHER COMMENTS**
- Other duties may be assigned as needed to help ensure the efficient operation of MNBC.
- There will be a need to attend meetings and events which may require work and travel outside of the normal business hours.
- Ability to provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check.
- Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s license and access to reliable personal vehicle for work purposes is recommended.
