Why Redlen Technologies?
Redlen Technologies is a pioneering company that has revolutionized the semiconductor crystal growth and fabrication process.
At Redlen Technologies, innovation is at the heart of everything we do. Our founder's visionary work with the Canadian Space Agency laid the foundation for our groundbreaking Cadmium Zinc Telluride (CZT) sensors, revolutionizing medical imaging, security imaging, and non-destructive testing. We are driving a quantum leap forward in medical CT scanners, elevating diagnostic accuracy while reducing radiation dose
- a technological feat that has earned us global recognition. With a commitment to excellence, we have earned the trust of Fortune 500 industry customers, leading to our acquisition by Canon Inc. for $430M- a testament to our industry leadership.
With over 200 dedicated professionals, we take pride in fostering a work environment where Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) professionals thrive. As an equal opportunity employer we demonstrate that diversity drives innovation, and we are passionate about building a future where every employee contributes to our mission-driven success. Redlen's teams, mirroring the multifaceted diversity of Canadian society, exemplify our commitment to leveraging a wide range of ideas and backgrounds as a driving force for innovation, business excellence, and pioneering advancements in STEM.
Redlen’s Module Development Department ensures the performance, cost and reliability of the company’s detector modules, while the Reliability Team focuses on characterizing and reporting on failure modes, failure rates and lifetimes of the PCCT detectors across the entire product lifecycle—from semiconductor material development to device integration. Acting as a cross-functional bridge within the organization, the team conducts sensor-, MM-, DM- oriented HALT, ALT and other characterization and reliability-specific testing, along with in-gantry data analysis, driving initiatives that align with Redlen’s reliability advancement objectives. Their work spans emerging technologies, including semiconductor material growth, device fabrication, device physics, detector module engineering, advanced photon-counting ASICs, and attachment/interconnect technologies.
**Key Responsibilities**:
Detector Performance
- Explore, determine, define, and establish key attributes of x-ray detector performance focusing on high-flux operations relevant to photon-counting computed tomography (PCCT)
- Define and execute sensor
- and detector
- level performance experiments, perform related data analysis, write up and communicate results Device Reliability
- Lead advanced experimental and analytical aspects of device reliability, including component-level investigations and development of a consistent framework for reliability-specific analysis and reporting, finding the material and process factors influencing failure mechanisms and failure rates
- Develop novel testing and aging protocols for PCCT detectors, including test vehicles for next generation products
- Support Test Team (Reliability) in troubleshooting complex test box, test tank, environmental chamber, and other issues
Cross-functional work
- Where appropriate to support manufacturing, work with the product engineering team to monitor and analyze key product performance metrics that influence yields at sensor and module level. Work to isolate and characterize the root cause(s) of process variations by analysis of passive data from manufacturing, and by designed experiments
- Where appropriate to support our validation and test team, identify, quantify and reduce or eliminate the fundamental contributors that reduce repeatability and reproducibility of detector and sensor measurements.
- Where appropriate to support the Process Development, Detector Physics, Crystal Growth teams by characterizing properties of interest as applicable
- Perform additional tasks and duties as applicable to the role as assigned
**Qualifications**:
- A minimum of five years’ technical experience in a related role
- Solid background in semiconductor devices, materials and physics, detector physics, including characterization and test methods
