Production Supervisor

**Job Overview**

In this role, **you will be working at our Pointe Claire Steel facility in Bolton, ON.** You will supervise, coach and interact with team of 10-20 members, during our **day shift **operation. This position is critical to the well-functioning and efficiency of the entire facility, and your team members safety. You will also be responsible for any disciplinary issues, performance management, vacations, and time off.

**Responsibilities**
- Managing production staff to ensure all quality standards are met.
- Managing production schedules as directed.
- Managing health and safety compliance and goals.
- Working with the HR and Safety team to ensure all accidents and injuries are thoroughly investigated and that all investigation documentation, modified job offers, and back to work agreements are properly managed.
- Working with maintenance to address issues as soon as possible when dealing with breakdowns or defects.
- Hold regular team meetings to communicate safety initiatives.
- Approving the payroll reports as well as exception slips; Coordinate and approve vacations.
- Focusing on continuous improvement; maximizing productivity while reducing waste and inefficiencies with machines and people processes.
- Keeping track of absences and dealing resolving attendance issues.
- Reporting any significant people or labour relations issues to Operations manager.
- Ensuring all the department's employees maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Leading, coaching, supporting, motivating, recognizing and Supervising employees in their work by going around the facility many times per day and dealing with people issues and/or bringing up any significant issues to the immediate attention to the operations team.
- Performing all other duties assigned.

**Qualifications**
- Post-Secondary education in Manufacturing, Operations Management, Engineering, or related field.
- Being a proven leader and having the ability to lead and motivate a team of employees, with 1-3 years of experience as a supervisor or lead-hand.
- Work experience as a laborer in manufacturing or sheet metal would be a definite asset.
- Having a good ability and knowledge of computers and technology.
- Having demonstrated ability to follow safe work practices.

**Working Conditions**
- Working in manufacturing environment (Noise, temperature variations, powered equipment, etc.)
- Working with continuous deadlines, multiple demands, and interruptions
- Wearing required personal protective equipment (Safety Glasses, steel toe footwear and hearing protection)

**Salary**: $60,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
