**Position Title**: Inspector

**Pay Range**: Min: $40.97/hour to Max: $48.21/hour
**Position Location**: Orillia, Ontario. Travel within the Province of Ontario is required.

The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) is a regulatory agency that reports to the Ministry of the Attorney General. The AGCO is responsible for regulating the alcohol, gaming (casino, lottery, and charitable gaming), horse racing, and cannabis sectors in Ontario, in accordance with the principles of honesty and integrity, and in the public interest.

In this role, the Inspector will use their thorough knowledge of the Registrar’s Standards for Gaming, Lottery and Cannabis along with the Liquor Licence and Control Act, Gaming Control Act, Horse Racing Licence Act and other related legislation and regulations to plan and undertake compliance activities at licensed/registered premises including special occasion permit functions, break-open ticket vendors, commercial/charitable gaming sites, cannabis retail stores, racetracks, horse training centres, bingo halls and registered lottery retailers.
- Demonstrated experience in/and substantial knowledge of risk-based, outcomes-focused law/regulatory enforcement and information-gathering techniques.
- Direct experience conducting inspections and/or other compliance activities and providing excellent service to the public.
- Excellent report writing and organizational skills with the ability to successfully meet frequent deadlines.
- A proven ability to build relationships at all levels with internal and external stakeholders.
- The ability to make sound decisions when faced with difficult/confrontational situations.
- Demonstrated ability to give evidence at hearings and court proceedings.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A willingness to travel and work variable hours (including nights, weekends and statutory holidays).
- A valid driver’s licence with an acceptable driving record.
