**Location: 2 Copper Road, Brampton, ON plus the ability to travel to various project worksites**

**Hours of work: 35 Hours per week**

**Who we are**: The Operations Support Division provides a wide array of programs and services to 2 separate groups; Public Works clients and the community. It is the most diverse division in Peel, serving many different Public Works clients. Ops Support even services the community through various environmental education programs, call centres, and water billing.

**Reports to**: Manager, Engineering Technical Services

**What you will do in this role**:

- Work with staff to identify and prioritize properties which require investigation, retain and manage environmental consulting firms to conduct Phase 1 and Phase 2 ESA’s, Risk Assessments and other environmental investigations and provide recommendations with respect to identified capital projects.
- Oversee the organization of project activities ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget constraints
- Maintaining knowledge of Excess Soils Legislation and familiarity with provincial and federal environmental regulatory frameworks, diligent interpretation of environmental data, comparison of sample results to applicable standards and preparation of environmental site reports
- Act as the primary liaison between all team members assigned to a project
- Oversee all aspects of project delivery including defining project scope, specifying deliverables, estimating project duration, effort and cost, managing project budget, creating detailed project plans and managing change requests
- Lead, support and execute various release programs from initiation through completion
- Record and manage deviations, risks and issues related to the new or changed service and take necessary corrective action
- Maintain regular communications with active team and business stakeholders to ensure necessary and appropriate steps are taken to resolve difficulties, which may impede progress or compromise achievement
of project’s objectives
- Maintain a detailed status, activities and issues reports on each project to present to Management and major project stakeholders
- Work closely with Resource Managers to ensure each project team has established meaningful, key metrics that properly reflect the performance of the team and indicates progress towards objectives
- Provide feedback to Resource Managers from a post-completion analysis of all projects
- The position will manage/oversee external consultants and geotechnical contractors. It will also be a lead for liaising with Conservation authorities, regulatory agencies, landowners and other stakeholders/approval agencies.

**What the role requires**:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or Earth Sciences- Minimum of five (5) years related field experience- Thorough knowledge of environmental legislation including the Environmental Protect Act and Ontario Regulation 153/04 as amended- Demonstrated related Environmental Field Programs (soil, groundwater, sampling)- Familiarity with the Ministry of Environment (MOE) review processes for Records of Site Conditions and Risk Assessments- Experience with environmental regulatory frameworks- Thorough understanding of the requirements for Phase 1 and Phase 2 ESA reports and of the data requirements for Risk Assessment reports- Environmental data analysis and interpretation, coordination and input on project budgets and schedules
- Valid Ontario Class “G” License
- Combination of education and experience may be considered

**Skills/Abilities**:
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with previous involvement in preparing project proposals, Preliminary Assessments, and Site Investigation/Remedial Investigation/Remedial Action Work Plans, Decision Documents, Remediation Verification and Reports.
- Ability to effectively interact with clients, regulatory agencies, field operations, technical
- staff and subcontractors.- Demonstrated experience developing and executing purchase orders and subcontracts- Knowledge of MS Word Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint, Teams)
