Volunteer- Vice President

As Chapter Vice-President, you are the co-leader of MADD Metro Vancouver Chapter. You will work collaboratively with fellow board members; community partners and the national staff to support our mission.
**Commitment**:
- 1-2 year term, followed by a 1-2 year term as President (preferred).
- 8-10+ hours / month.
**Responsibilities**:
- In the absence of the / a Chapter President, assume the role of Chapter President (i.e., chair monthly board / Chapter meetings
- please see the President’s position description).
- Assist the Chapter President with annual general and / or general meeting planning.
- Assist the Chapter President with an annual strategic planning session / retreat.
- Assist committee chairs and members as necessary.
- Work collaboratively with fellow board members; your community; community partners (i.e., police, fire, emergency medical services, media, schools, health department, local merchants, companies, etc ) and the national office.
- Be knowledgeable about MADD Canada’s policies, programs and services.
- Act as a spokesperson & community liaison for the Chapter (as necessary).
- Assume overall responsibility for volunteer and membership recruitment.
- Assist the President with board recruitment and succession planning.
- Promote the Chapter positively within your community.
- Act as a signing officer for the Chapter (as required).
- Attend the National Leadership Conference (strongly encouraged).
- Actively seek opportunities to partner and build strategic alliances / partnerships.
- Lead by example.
