Our client has an immediate need for a VP, Human Resources.
**The Position**
Based in Nisku, Alberta, the **VP, Human Resources** is an integral part of the Executive Team and is responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction to all facets of human resources management for a multi-disciplinary organization. The VP ensures that all operational and HR programs, service, policies, programs and initiatives are integrated and effective in supporting the overall mission, goals, and objectives of the company and provides broad administrative leadership and coordination to the Executive Vice President.

**Key Responsibilities **(including but not limited to):
Leadership
- Promote a positive culture and ensure a healthy and collaborative work environment
- Uphold companies’ mission, vision and values through leading by example
- Lead, guide, direct, and evaluate the work of all internal stakeholders and managers
- Provide day to day support and guidance to team members to support and achieve department goals
- Provide guidance and instruction by delegating work, overseeing progress towards goals, coaching, and motivating team members to accomplish deliverables through encouragement and removal of obstacles
- Ensures employees have access to safety, welfare, wellness and health information
- Lead by example by demonstrating the importance of fostering a safety culture
- The Recruitment Manager and HR team reports to this position
Operations
- Establish organizational strategic plans, goals, objectives, policies, procedures
- Directs/oversees operational services for the organization
- Responsible for all aspects of Human Resources function including organizational structure, employee experience and development, talent acquisition, employee relations, total rewards, legislative compliance, risk, diversity and inclusion, workforce and succession planning, health and safety, performance evaluations, technology and reporting, and payroll
- Provide counsel and guidance on all operational/HR initiatives
- Administration and negotiation of bargaining unit contracts
- Schedule and lead department meetings
- Job costing analysis for HR operations
Bidding
- Assist in bidding in regards to HR requirements
- Provide costing information to bidding team
- Provide guidance on procedure and challenges with specific labour requirements
Financial Management
- Prepare and roll out annual budgets, indicating key strategic and growth plan
- Schedule and lead budget review meetings with management
- Prepare and present monthly/annual budget reports to ownership
- Lead, monitor and aid management in budget planning and implementation activities
- Monitor budget performance and spending patterns; implement measures to promote adherence to budgets and to increase productivity
**Education & Experience**
- HR Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR)
- Minimum five (5) years of progressive career growth with a pattern of exceptional performance, preferably in the oil and gas sector
- Demonstrated knowledge of leadership and management principles, including minimum three (3) years supervising a high functioning team
- A proven track record in planning, leading, implementing and measuring the impact of HR strategies and initiatives
- Strong knowledge and understanding of legislation and standards, including cross border labour law ingurgitations
- Experience contributing to an environment that is constantly changing and has multiple stakeholders
- Strong proficiency with English, both verbal and written
