Dispatcher - Control Centre

As the Dispatcher you are at the heart of all the action at WinSport’s Canada Olympic Park. In this role you will be the vital link keeping everything running smoothly on the hill and behind the scenes. Reporting to the Patrol Manager, your main mission is to keep a close ear on radio traffic and phone communications, ensuring on-hill operations are running smoothly while also providing logístical support, assisting with record-keeping, and supporting day-to-day WinSport operations.

**What you will be doing**:
- Monitor radio transmissions from all on-hill departments, including security.
- Record relevant information and timestamps.
- Act as primary point of contact during emergency situations or health & safety concerns.
- Assist in completing necessary forms associated with accidents.
- Adhere to emergency protocols outlined in the emergency response plan.
- Assist in overseeing incident investigations on the hill, ensuring all critical information collection and summarization is complete.
- Collaborate and support with all departments to ensure seamless daily operations.
- Assist operations with daily administrative tasks.
- Uphold and promote WinSport’s safety culture, mission statement, and values.
- Perform administrative duties as required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned, including the ability to work extended hours, weekends, and statutory holidays.
- Other duties as delegated
**What you bring**:
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Valid Advanced First Aid Certification minimum.
- Proficiency in advanced computer skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong customer service capabilities.
- Effective problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate and multitask effectively under pressure while remaining calm.
- Capacity to work independently to fulfill assigned tasks.
- Capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Incident Command System training is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with radio protocols and etiquette is considered an asset.
- Previous experience with the general operation of WinSport or similar facilities is an asset.
**You will be**:
- This is a physically demanding position due to the nature of skiing/snowboarding and the practice of on hill extrication.
- May be required to be outside up to 100% of the time on shift.
- Environmental exposures may involve: Cold, hot, wet and/or humid weather, sunlight, wind, snow, among others.
- Other exposures may include: Infectious diseases, needle-stick injuries and inherent risks of skiing, and snowboarding, among others.
- Lifting no more than 125lbs with frequent lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 50lbs.
- May be required to stand for periods up to 4 hours.
- Constant kneeling, bending and twisting.
**Scheduling Requirements**:
- Full-time position with a 40-hour work week.
- Working rotation 4 days on and 4 days off.
- Shifts fall within operational hours, shifts ranging from 8 to 12 hours per day.
