Are you a creative and caring person who wants to make a difference in the lives of people with developmental disabilities and your community? This is your opportunity to assist youth with developmental disabilities to volunteer, find work and participate within our community.

Our passionate team is dedicated to advancing inclusion for people who live with developmental disabilities in North Muskoka. As a Peer Job Coach you will work with youth with developmental disabilities to help them to build work skills to secure and retain future employment.

**Your Role**
- As part of a team with experienced staff, you will source summer jobs with local businesses.
- Work with youth to build skills prior to starting their employment.
- Attend work with youth with developmental disabilities by acting as a peer role model for effective work habits, communication and problem solving, while providing on the job training.
- Facilitate or assist with workplace adjustments/job aides, if necessary
- Communicate directly with employers
- Redirect behaviour, provide coaching and feedback and clarify expectations
- Problem-solve with employers and supported individuals
- Customer service
- Work with a team or supervisor to resolve complex situations

**Your Qualifications**
- Knowledge about and commitment to disability rights, the principles of inclusion, and the Community Living Movement
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Familiarity with the Huntsville community, resources and opportunities
- Flexibility around hours of work
- Ability to work well independently and as a member of a team
- Tolerance of, and ability to handle, a heavy workload and competing demands
- Ability to use and learn new technology (computers, software programs, phones, printer/scanners, alarm/security systems, etc.)
- Current First Aid/CPR certification, or willingness to obtain
- Valid driver’s license, acceptable driver’s abstract and reliable transportation are preferred
- Ability to obtain a clear Vulnerable Sector Check
- Free of communicable diseases
- Ability, availability, and commitment to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends
- Must be returning to school in September 2025.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Contract
Contract length: 3.5 months

Pay: $21.65 per hour
