**Location: Victoria, BC**

**Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week (Monday-Friday 8am-4pm; evening and weekends as required)**

**Salary: $27.31 per hour (Effective March 22, 2025) - Unionized Position, CUPE Local 410, Pay Grade 4**

**About the Role**:
The Facilities Maintenance Worker ensures the safe, clean, and efficient operation of the AGGV’s facilities, including buildings, grounds, tools, and vehicles. This position provides essential support to staff, visitors, and programs by maintaining the gallery’s spaces and equipment, working closely with internal staff, contractors, and service providers. The role also supports public programs and events through space setup and equipment preparation.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**General Maintenance**:

- Perform daily cleaning of floors (hardwood, carpet, linoleum) and washrooms.
- Replenish consumables and manage waste and recycling removal.
- Monitor and report facility issues, completing routine checklists and maintenance forms.
- Maintain staff kitchen cleanliness and supplies.

**Grounds Maintenance**
- Water, mow, and maintain lawns and gardens.
- Coordinate seasonal groundskeeping with contractors.
- Manage leaf, garden, and snow removal.
- Support pest control activities and manage grounds equipment.

**Facility Maintenance**
- Assist with building system checks (HVAC, fire systems, boilers).
- Maintain lighting, order supplies, and assist with minor repairs or improvements.
- Support furniture assembly, basic carpentry, and general facility upkeep.

**Program & Event Support**
- Set up and dismantle tables, chairs, lighting, and AV equipment.
- Support art installations and gallery programs as required.

**Tool, Equipment & Vehicle Maintenance**
- Perform upkeep on tools and equipment.
- Monitor and remind supervisor of AGGV van maintenance schedule.
- Safely operate riding mowers, leaf collectors, and snow removal equipment.

**What We're Looking For**:

- Minimum 2 years’ experience in building and grounds maintenance or similar environment.
- Experience with commercial cleaning and routine maintenance.
- Familiarity with building systems (HVAC, boilers, air handling).
- Knowledge of WorkSafeBC and WHMIS standards.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License; bondable.
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, contractors, and the public.
- Ability to perform manual tasks (lifting up to 50 lbs, ladder climbing, extended standing, operating tools).
