**Responsibilities**:
**Utility Locating**:

- Use various tools and equipment, such as electromagnetic locators, ground-penetrating radar, and utility maps, to accurately identify the location of underground utilities.
- Determine the depth, alignment, and type of utilities, including water, sewer, gas, electric, telecommunications, and others.

**Marking and Flagging**:

- Mark the locations of underground utilities on the ground's surface using color-coded flags, paint, or other standardized markings.
- Ensure that the markings are clear and comply with industry standards to guide construction or excavation activities.

**Communication**:

- Communicate effectively with construction crews and contractors to provide information on the location of utilities.

**Record Keeping**:

- Maintain accurate records of utility locations, markings, and any relevant information.
- Document changes or modifications to the underground infrastructure for future reference.

**Safety Procedures**:

- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to minimize the risk of accidents and injuries during utility locating activities.
- Stay informed about safety regulations and best practices in the industry.

**Problem Solving**:

- Address challenges or discrepancies in utility information by troubleshooting and consulting with relevant parties.
- Resolve issues that may arise during the utility locating process.

**Qualifications**:
**Education**:

- High school diploma or equivalent is typically required.

**Technical Skills**:

- Proficiency in using utility locating equipment, including electromagnetic locators, ground-penetrating radar, and GPS devices.
- Ability to interpret utility maps and technical drawings.

**Communication Skills**:

- Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey information accurately and effectively.

**Physical Fitness**:

- Physical fitness is required, as the job involve outdoor work, walking, and lifting equipment.

Damage Prevention Technicians play a crucial role in preventing accidental damage to underground utilities, contributing to the overall safety and efficiency of construction and excavation projects. Azaka works closely with construction teams and utility companies to ensure that work is carried out without disruptions or safety risks.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Seasonal

Pay: From $25.00 per hour
